Reading
In 4th grade we make the transision from learning to read to reading to learn.
Time for Kids: Student will read about current events and write on them each week.
Book Clubs: Throughout the year your student may be involved in a book club. Book clubs allow students an opportunity to discuss beautiful literature with each other. They need to come to book club prepared and eager to discuss!
Content Area Reading: We often read from our Social Studies Book or science books.
Fab 4: Fab 4 gives students an opportunity to choose what they would like to do in the area of reading that day. They may independent read, partner read, write about what they are reading, or work on word work. They will have to get to each of the 4 sessions every week.
Independent Reading Conferences: I will periodically meet with students to make sure that they are reading at their level and are reading from several genres.
